Background

Ben Gervais has a bachelor and master degree in music education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. He was a band director, percussion and jazz specialist in Missouri before earning a master degree in percussion performance with a certificate in higher education administration at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has extensive experience with DCI as a cymbal performer and drum major. He has been a staff member for DCI, WGI, and BOA finalist groups.

Since moving back to the Kansas City area, Ben has taught at the collegiate level and middle school band. Currently he is the assistant band director and percussion specialist at Olathe Northwest high school.

He is a member of Percussive Arts Society and proudly endorses Sabian Cymbals and Gon Bops percussion.​
